Iran: 14 Prisoners Scheduled To Be Executed

Iran Human Rights (Dec 19 2017): Four prisoners who had been sentenced to execution in public were transferred to solitary confinement on Saturday and 10 other prisoners, most of whom were charged with murder, were transferred to solitary confinement in Rajai Shahr prison yesterday December 18.

According to a close source, on the morning of Saturday December 16, four prisoners who were sentenced to execution in public were transferred to solitary confinement from ward 5 of Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj (West of Tehran). The prisoners were sentenced to execution in public on the charge of armed robbery. Two of the prisoners were identified as Moslem Mohammadi and Mohsen Kamali. The execution of these prisoners is going to be carried out in Tehran soon.

Additionally, on Monday December 18, 10 prisoners, mostly charged with murder, were transferred to solitary confinement from different wards of Rajai Shahr Prison.

Five of them are identified as Peyman Sheykhi, Amir Abbasi, Mohammad Reza Qera’at, Mostafa Chardouli, and Amir Abbas Ardestani.

Most executions in Rajai Shahr Prison are carried out on Wednesdays. In case the plaintiffs don’t give them some time or their consent, these 10 prisoners will be executed on Wednesday.
