Iran Human Rights (IHR); January 1, 2018: A prisoner was hanged on murder charges at Mashhad Central Prison.
According to a Khorasan daily report, on the morning of Sunday, December 6 2018, a prisoner was hanged at Mashhad Central Prison. Hossein Ch, 39, was sentenced to death for killing his wife and also sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for murdering his child.
According to Iran Human Rights annual report on the death penalty, 240 of the 517 execution sentences in 2017 were implemented due to murder charges.
