Prisoner Hanged in Southern Iran

Iran Human Rights (APR 25 2016): A prisoner was reportedly hanged at Bandar Abbas's central prison on murder charges.
According to a report by the Judiciary in Hormozgan, a prisoner, identified as H.M. (31 years old), was hanged on murder charges on the morning of Wednesday April 20.

Six women were among those executed, the highest monthly total recorded in 2026. Only 10 of the 82 August executions were officially announced. IHRNGO recorded at least 532 executions in Iran between 1 January and 31 August 2026.
