Iran: Prisoner Hanged on Murder Charges

Iran Human Rights (MAY 30 2017): A prisoner was reportedly hanged at Bushehr Central Prison on Tuesday May 23 on murder charges.
According to the human rights news agency HRANA, the prisoner was imprisoned for ten years before he was executed. HRANA has identified the prisoner as Ahmad Delvari Ahmadpour.
Iranian official sources, including the media and the Judiciary, have not announced Mr. Ahmadpour's execution.

Bavi’s execution had not been officially reported. At least 747 people, including 48 women, were executed for murder charges in Iran in 2025, the highest number of qisas executions since 2010.

Yousef Bavi, a 28-year-old Arab man, was executed in Ahvaz Sepidar Prison on 25 August. He was 19 when the incident that led to his qisas death sentence took place.
