Two Prisoners Were Transferred To Solitary Confinement
Iran Human Rights (SEPT 25 2017): Two prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement at Urmia Central Prison (Darya) to serve their sentence. The prisoners are sentenced to death on murder charges.
According to a close source, on the morning of Monday September 25, two prisoners, who were charged with murder, were transferred to solitary confinement at Urmia Central Prison.
The prisoners were identified as Javad Khayyeri from ward 15 and Nayeb Abbaspour from wards 3 and 4.
“Javad Khayyeri was charged with drug trafficking and murder. A while ago he was sentenced to life imprisonment on drug related charges and now he is going to be executed for murder,” said a close source to Iran Human Rights (IHR).
The two prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement in spite of the fact that executions are delayed in the Muslim holy month of Muharram (the first month of the Islamic calendar. Shia Muslims observe and respect Muharram as the month that martyred Hussein, the grandson of Muhammad, in the Battle of Karbala).
