Iran: Prisoner Hanged in Ardabil

Iran Human Rights (IHR); November 7, 2019: A prisoner hanged at the central prison of Ardabil city, northwestern Iran.
According to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), on the morning of Tuesday, November 5, a man hanged for murder charges at Ardabil prison.
He was sentenced to death for killing his two nephews with firearm two years ago. The source has not mentioned the prisoner or the victims' name.
Out of the 110 people who were executed in the first half of 2019, 83 were sentenced to qisas (retribution in-kind) for murder.

اعدام احمد حاجیحسنی تا زمان انتشار خبر رسماً اعلام نشده بود. در سال ۲۰۲۵ دستکم ۷۹۵ نفر با اتهامات مرتبط با مواد مخدر در ایران اعدام شدند؛ ۵۸٪ بیشتر از سال قبل.
