Four Men Transferred for Execution in Yazd, Isfahan and Birjand

Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); July 20, 2022: Four men on death row for murder and drug-related charges have been transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their executions in Yazd, Isfahan and Birjand Prisons.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, 29-year-old Heydar Heybouzadeh who was sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder, has been transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for his execution in Yazd Central Prison.

An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “Heydar Heybouzadeh was arrested for the murder of a ranger around seven years ago. He denied the murder in court and said he wasn’t even at the location when the murder took place.”

Heydar Heybouzadeh is a father of one and was transferred for execution from Ward 3 of Yazd Central Prison.

According to Hal Vash, two men were transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their executions for drug-related offences. Their identities have been established as 60-year-old Dariush Khazayi and 28-year-old Mahmoud Sadeghian.

Hal Vash further reports the transfer of another Baluch man, 38-year-old Zabihollah Barahouyi in Birjand Prison who has also been sentenced to death for drug-related charges.

All four men are scheduled to be executed in the near future.
