Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO); December 13, 2022: Reza Tajik who was sentenced to death for drug-related charges, has been transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for his execution in Karaj Penitentiary.

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, Reza Tajik who is on death row for drug-related charges has been transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for his execution in Karaj Penitentiary.

An informed source told Iran Human Rights: “Reza Tajik’s father is an Afghan national and his mother, Iranian. His execution is due to take place tomorrow.”

More than 500 people including 2 juvenile offenders have been executed in 2022, the highest annual execution since 2017.
