Iran Human Rights, July 5: One woman and one man were hanged in the prison of Urmia (northwest of Iran) on Monday July 5.
Iran Human Rights, July 5: One woman and one man were hanged in the prison of Orumieh (northwest of Iran) on Monday July 5 according to HRANA news agency.
According to this report the man was identified as Mostafa Rahimi and he was hanged along with his mother (name not mentioned) convicted of drug trafficking.
According to HRANA newsagency five others have been transferred to solitary confinement and are scheduled to be executed tomorrow.
The official Iranian sources have not confirmed these news yet.

Six women were among those executed, the highest monthly total recorded in 2026. Only 10 of the 82 August executions were officially announced. IHRNGO recorded at least 532 executions in Iran between 1 January and 31 August 2026.
