Farzad Feizi and Hassan Mousavi Secretly Hanged for Drug Offences in Shiraz

According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, two men were hanged in Shiraz (Adel Abad) Prison on 1st August 2026. Their identities have been established as Farzad Feizi, a 40-year-old father of one from Babol and 30-year-old Hassan Mousavi from Jolfa.

Farzad was arrested two years ago and Hassan was arrested three years ago. They were sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.

An informed source told IHRNGO: “Farzad Feizi was accused of being in possession of 18 kilograms of heroin. Their executions were carried out secretly, depriving them of last family visits.”

At the time of writing, their executions have not been reported by domestic media or officials in Iran.

Two other unidentified men who have been sentenced to qisas (retribution-in-kind) for murder are currently awaiting the gallows in the pre-execution solitary confinement cells of the prison.

Drug-related executions have continuously risen every year since 2021. According to IHRNGO’s 2025 Annual Report on the Death Penalty, at least 795 people were executed for drug-related charges, of which only 0.18% were announced by official sources. 13% of all drug-related executions in 2025 were Baluch minorities while they represent 2-6% of Iran’s population.
