Five prisoners were hanged in public today

Iran Human Rights, December 27: Five prisoners were hanged in public in southern Iran today.

Fars, the state-run Iranian news agency reported five men were hanged in "Mehrvarzi" park in the city of Yasouj in front of thousands of people. The prisoners, not identified by name, were convicted of rape.

Based on official Iranian reports, at least 23 people have been executed in December 2012 in Iran.
