Nasrin Javadi (Azam Khezri Javadi), a retired worker, is a workers' rights activist, a member of the Free Union of Iranian Workers and one of the founding members of the Social Security Pensioners' Council. She was arrested on 1 May 2019 during the International Workers’ Day gathering outside the Islamic Consultative Assembly (parliament) building. After serving 33 days behind bars, including 22 days in solitary confinement under intense interrogation, she was eventually released on bail. On 6 August, Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari, sentenced Nasrin to 7 years' imprisonment, 74 lashes, a two-year ban on the use of mobile phones and a ban on political party activities on charges of “assembly and collusion to act against national security,” “propaganda against the regime” and “disrupting public order and peace.” At the appeal stage, she was acquitted of the charges of “propaganda against the regime” and “disrupting public order,” but her five-year prison sentence was upheld. In practice, despite the acquittals, no change was made to her enforceable sentence. Nasrin was summoned in July 2020 to serve her sentence.
Due to contracting COVID-19 and suffering from multiple illnesses, she submitted medical furlough in February 2022 Despite doctors confirmed that she was unfit to serve prison time, the sentence enforcement authorities rejected the opinion and referred the matter to the Legal Medicine Organisation, which, contrary to the opinions of specialist physicians, ruled that she was fit to serve her sentence. Ultimately, despite requiring daily injections of special osteoporosis medication and cataract surgery, Javadi presented herself at Evin Prison on 2 July 2022 to begin serving her sentence. On 19 November 2022, following a deterioration in her condition, Nasrin was transferred to hospital in a semi-conscious state and, several days later, returned to prison before fully recovering.
In August 2024, a group of female prisoners, including Nasrin, protested against the execution of Kurdish "Womna, Life, Freedom" protester Reza Rasaei, after which prison guard forces raided their ward and she suffered a nervous breakdown. Several months later, when her only child fell into a coma and was transferred to hospital, prison authorities rejected her request for furlough.

In January 2025, Nasrin was deprived of family visits. Prison authorities stated that the reason for the restriction was the discovery of “a power bank cable” among the belongings of one of her family members.

Nasrin was released from Qarchak Prison on 14 September 2025 after serving approximately 3 years and 4 months behind bars.
